The term “accessibility” identifies an IT system’s ability to provide services and information without discriminating people with disabilities who require particular configurations or assistive technologies. Usability is a concept defined and regulated by particular ISO standards.
BeyonDoc has created a competence center designed to meet the requirement to adjust PDFs for customers to the PDF/UA format, which is the informal name for ISO 14289 (the international standard for the accessibility of PDF technology).
BeyonDoc’s competence center has developed the PDF/UA Manager solution, which can be used to ensure the accessibility of PDFs generated by document composition applications or, more broadly, mixed sources.
Thanks to this tool, the financial institution can handle the compliance journey required by regulations as far as facilitated documents are concerned.
The solution is built on the development of algorithms used to automatically insert in PDFs the elements screen readers need to make a document accessible in its key features.
